Welcome Supporters!

This is my SIXTH year running for TEAM PAWS Chicago!

This year, because I love running for bling almost as much as I love running for homeless pets - I'm participating in the SUPER PAWS Challenge! I'll be running (at least), an 8K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon this year. I'm hoping to do at least a few of those as in-person races but it's hard to say what 2021 will bring.

In addition to running for all the homeless pets of PAWS Chicago - I run for my two rescue dogs. In June 2020, my first rescue dog, Bowie, passed away. I am so thankful for the time I had with him and I continue to run in his memory for other rescue dogs just like him. In October 2020 we adopted our first PAWS Chicago alumna - Millie! She has brought so much joy to my home and I am so thankful for her.

In 2020 I raised over $3000 and donated 200 hours of my time to PAWS Chicago. I am a Level 3 Dog Town volunteer (which means I get to work with our most difficult-to-place dogs), a foster counselor, foster mom, and I also teach a workshop for aspiring adoption counselors.

My 2021 goal is $2000 raised and 200 hours donated! Thank you for all your help in getting me to my fundraising goals for a sixth time!

PAWS Chicago is dedicated to building No Kill communities – starting with a No Kill Chicago – where all healthy and treatable pets are saved. Since PAWS Chicago’s founding in 1997, the number of homeless animals euthanized per year in Chicago has dropped more than 85 percent. In 2018, PAWS Chicago found loving homes for more than 5,200 homeless pets. But there is always more work to be done.

PAWS Chicago is an 18+ time recipient of Charity Navigator's 4-star rating: meaning the money you donate through me goes directly to help the homeless animals of Chicago and beyond. PAWS Chicago works multiple arms to make Chicago a No-Kill city:

1) The two adoption centers which allow us to place animals into new homes.
2) The medical center (which recently underwent a massive renovation!) which allows us to treat animals many other shelters could not.
3) The PAWS For Life program which supports families in low-income communities and helps them keep their pets by providing food, medical care, and other supplies.
4) Outreach to areas affected by natural disasters. We've rescued animals from every major hurricane since Katrina - pulling animals who were already in local shelters in order to make room for animals displaced by the storms.
5) Education and outreach to other shelters through Maddie's Fund - helping other shelters build their own robust volunteer program.

PAWS Chicago could not do what we do without the help of our volunteer base and donations from the public. The current and future residents of Dog Town and Kitty City thank you in advance for your support!

If you are feeling extra generous, please consider sharing my page with your network or check with your employer if they will match your donation to make the most out of your generosity.

Thank you for your support!
