Welcome to Team Lazdins!

Elizabeth Lazdins

Welcome Friends and Family!

I was so proud to represent Team PAWS last year that I decided to do it again this year. This year I'm running in the Rock N Roll Half Marathon in Chicago in July. The mileage is less but the need is still the same. Two of my cats came from a kill shelter. While they wake me up much too early for their breakfast, they also snuggle with me when I'm not feeling well and make me laugh as they chatter at birds in the window. They're also exceptional bug hunters. What would have happened if I hadn't adopted them before their time ran out?

PAWS Chicago is dedicated to building No Kill communities – starting with a No Kill Chicago – where all healthy and treatable pets are saved. Since PAWS Chicago’s founding in 1997, the number of homeless animals euthanized per year in Chicago has dropped more than 80 percent. In 2016, PAWS Chicago found loving homes for more than 5,100 homeless pets. But there is more work to be done and your generosity is crucial to this effort.

Please consider supporting me by making a donation and helping PAWS Chicago provide vital medical care, food and shelter to thousands of homeless pets this year. PAWS receives no government funding and relies solely on people like you to help provide continued care for Chicago's homeless animals.

Your support will allow us to build a truly humane and compassionate community, one pet at a time. Please consider donating to my cause.

If you are feeling extra generous, please consider sharing my page with your network or check with your employer if they will match your donation to make the most out of your generosity.

For those that donate $50 or more, I plan to dedicate a mile to your favorite pet until I reach my full mileage of 13.1 That means I'll carry their name on my race bib on race day and their memory will carry me through those long miles.

Thank you for your support!
