Brian's Last Run for Their Lives

Brian Adelstein

Brian Adelstein

Welcome Supporters!

After more than 19 years, I have decided to formally end my career as a marathon runner by completing one last epic race. I realize that I indicated last year that I was retiring from running the 26.2 miles following the completion of the 2017 Chicago Marathon, but have chosen to postpone this for one year in order to run one last bucket-list race.

As a result, I have accepted an invitation to run the 2018 New York City Marathon in November. Like my first race in 1999, I have chosen to complete this last race for charity and will be raising money for PAWS.

PAWS Chicago is dedicated to building No Kill communities – starting with a No Kill Chicago – where all healthy and treatable pets are saved. Since its founding in 1997, the number of homeless animals euthanized per year in Chicago has dropped more than 80 percent. In 2016, PAWS Chicago found loving homes for more than 5,100 homeless pets, including Apple (photo below) who we adopted for our daughter in June of that year. We rescued the other kittens pictured below for whom PAWS found new homes with loving families.

Many of you were very generous and contributed to the Leukemia Society as part of my race in Alaska so many years ago and I again ask for your help in order to achieve my fundraising goals for this race.

Please use this link to go to my fundraising page to contribute to this very worthy cause. I thank you and the animals in need of Chicago thank you.

Sincerely,

Brian Adelstein
