Hi Supporters!
Have you ever thought about the countless homeless animals in shelters and what their lives are like? Have you ever heard the statistics on how many of these animals actually get placed in homes before they are sadly slated for the alternative? Can you even imagine euthanizing an otherwise healthy animal simply because there was no more room or time to keep them? It is both heartbreaking and unfathomable to think that High Kill shelters are still in existence, but they are. If you are an animal lover like I am, I'm sure you've dreamt of helping these animals have a better chance at a second chance. Now is your opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these vulnerable animals.
This fall I will be running the Chicago Marathon with Team PAWS, as part of the PAWS of Chicago initiative to help inspire and mobilize people to act on behalf of these helpless animals. PAWS of Chicago is one of the largest No Kill shelters in the country, Their mission is a 4 pillar project beginning with; prevention of overpopulation by supplying the funds and medical care to spay and neuter homeless pets; assessing the health and behavioral needs of the animals and vowing to save ALL treatable animals by providing the necessary and appropriate care; providing adoption events by bringing the animals to the people for viewing and interaction and recruiting volunteers to help with the multi faceted project of keeping these animals alive until their forever homes can be secured. In addition, they are dedicated to expanding the No Kill communities beyond their borders, by working with High Kill shelters across the country to aid with overcrowding, taking on additional animals when their future is dire.
As you can imagine all of this work comes from the heart of many wonderful and dedicated people but there is still more work to be done and your help is needed.
Please consider supporting me by making a donation and helping PAWS Chicago provide vital medical care, food and shelter to thousands of homeless pets this year. PAWS receives no government funding and relies solely on people like you to help provide continued care for these helpless animals. Your support will allow us to build a truly humane and compassionate community, one pet at a time.
If you are moved by the work of this wonderful organization, please consider sharing my page with your network or check with your employer to see if they will match your donation to make the most out of your generosity.
Thank you for your support!
