Stefanie Warshaw

Hi I'm Stefanie and this year I'll be running the Chicago Marathon for PAWS. Whether I've had one conversation with you or 1,000, there is a 99% chance you've heard me talk about the loves of my life, mis gatitas, Arya and Sansa. For the fellow pet parents in the crowd, you understand that when I say "the loves of my life" I MEAN IT. While my cats didn't come from PAWS, they were rescued off the street, similar to many animals taken in by this incredible shelter. I'm grateful every day to the lovely man who took in my babies until he could find someone who needed them as much as they needed us. As a way to say thank you, this year it's my honor to be running the marathon for the biggest no-kill shelter in the Chicago-land area.

The last time I fundraised in 2020, my friends and family blew my original goal out of $1750 out of the water. Ya'll donated $3000 allowing me to donate $1500 to My Block My City My Hood and $1500 to Apna Ghar. This year I'm setting my goal at $2000.

It will be hard to top my race experience in 2020 after having the most supportive running partner I could have dreamed of (thank you Kelley O'Reilly!!!) and the most incredible fans cheering us on at Busse Woods, but after seeing Kelley kill the 2021 marathon, I knew I had to go for 2.

Oh, and this time I've roped Anthony into running with me :)

So, if you want to support me, or even if you hate me but want to support the homeless animals in need of some TLC all over Chicago, please consider donating to my fundraising page.

(BTW, here is the link to Anthony's fundraising page if you'd like to see his thoughts on running for PAWS).

Welcome Supporters! PAWS Chicago is dedicated to building No Kill communities – starting with a No Kill Chicago – where all healthy and treatable pets are saved. Since PAWS Chicago’s founding in 1997, the number of homeless animals euthanized per year in Chicago has dropped more than 91 percent. In 2020, PAWS Chicago found loving homes for more than 4,100 homeless pets.

But there is more work to be done and your generosity is crucial to this effort. Please consider supporting me by making a donation and helping PAWS Chicago provide vital medical care, food and shelter to thousands of homeless pets this year.

PAWS receives no government funding and relies solely on people like you to help provide continued care for Chicago's homeless animals. Your support will allow us to build a truly humane and compassionate community, one pet at a time. Please consider donating to my cause. If you are feeling extra generous, please consider sharing my page with your network or check with your employer if they will match your donation to make the most out of your generosity. Thank you for your support!
