Kiki Heron

Dear Friends, Family, and Animal Lovers,

Growing up I wasn't a good runner and I never enjoyed running. I chose to run a marathon to prove to myself I could conquer any goal I put my mind to. In 2020 I set out to run my first marathon—a 26.2 mile race—at 26.2 years old. Unfortunately COVID cancelled the Chicago Marathon, but I kept training and ran that 26.2 miles on my own. On October 9. 2022 I hope to finally cross the finish line of my first "real" marathon! I hope my journey inspires you to set a new goal to chase. You'll be amazed at how much you are truly capable of!

I chose to run with Team PAWS so that I could make this journey about more than my own personal goals. PAWS Chicago is the Midwest's largest No Kill animal shelter. Since PAWS Chicago’s founding in 1997, the number of homeless animals euthanized per year in Chicago has dropped more than 80 percent. PAWS Chicago has found loving homes for more than 69,000 homeless pets, including my cat Jiji who I adopted from PAWS Chicago in February 2021.

Please consider supporting me by making a donation and helping PAWS Chicago provide vital medical care, food and shelter to thousands of homeless pets this year. PAWS receives no government funding and relies solely on people like you to help provide continued care for Chicago's homeless animals.

Your support will allow us to build a truly humane and compassionate community, one pet at a time. Please consider donating to my cause.

If you are feeling extra generous, please consider sharing my page with your network or check with your employer if they will match your donation to make the most out of your generosity.

Thank you for your support!
