In April of 2017 I ran my first 5k race. Training for the race was daunting—it seemed insane to think I could run 3.1 miles, but I did.
In September of 2017 I ran my first 10k race. It seemed insane to think I could double my distance and run 6.2 miles, but I did.
In June of 2018 I ran my first half marathon. It seemed insane to think I could double my distance and run 13.1 miles, but I did.
In October of 2020 I will run my first marathon distance. It seems insane to think I can double my distance and run 26.2 miles, but I will. And I wont be doing it alone—I'm running a DIY Chicago Marathon with Team PAWS Chicago!
Did I mention I will be 26.2 years old on the day of the Marathon?

PAWS Chicago is dedicated to building No Kill communities—starting with a No Kill Chicago—where all healthy and treatable pets are saved. Since PAWS Chicago’s founding in 1997, the number of homeless animals euthanized per year in Chicago has dropped more than 80 percent. Please consider supporting me by making a donation and helping PAWS Chicago provide vital medical care, food and shelter to thousands of homeless pets this year.
PAWS receives no government funding and relies solely on people like you to help provide continued care for Chicago's homeless animals. PAWS Chicago has a 4-star Charity Navigator rating, so you can be confident that your donation is going to the heart of the mission.
