Heather Kaplan

Thank you for supporting me as I race to save homeless pets this year. I adopted Jersey from PAWS Chicago in October 2013 so this organization is near to my heart, as it brought our family together. At the time, Jersey was being fostered by my friend, Melissa, the Director of Sponsorship at PAWS. Melissa had rescued Jersey from a tough situation and was building up her confidence and health. We're forever grateful for all that Melissa and PAWS did to save Jersey, which was largely made possible through fundraising efforts like these.

Two years after adopting Jersey, in October 2015, I ran my first 5K and started to get serious about running. I've since completed four half marathons, and about 15 shorter races. Now, I'm ready to tackle the marathon, and am so proud to be running the Chicago Marathon while raising funds with Team PAWS. Jersey sometimes joins me for part of my training runs, and enjoys racing through the streets of Boston. She's excited to help me start training for Chicago!

These funds are used to help save thousands of homeless pets each year, just like Jersey, treating and rehabilitating sick and injured animals and uniting them with loving families. Funds are also used to support PAWS’ focus on prevention, providing nearly 18,000 low cost/free spay or neuter surgeries in low-income communities where most stray and unwanted animals originate. The team's goal this year is to save 3,000 lives. Please help me in contributing towards making this goal a reality.

Each dollar goes such a long way to making a difference. To learn more about PAWS Chicago and their life-saving work, please visit .

Thank you for supporting PAWS Chicago, your contribution is greatly appreciated!
